  1. Check, replace, or clean your air filters once a month.
  2. If you have your return air grills located on the lower portion of the walls, have plenty of space in front of them,       so the return air is not obstructed, causing air circulation problems.
  3. Add a cup of vinegar (no bleach!) to the condensate pan or drain every time you check the air filter. If you       cannot find a place to add it, have your a/c technician show you or install an adapter to have access.
  4. Make sure the louvers on the supply registers for the rooms are opened. There also may be opposed dampers       on those registers that need to be opened. If you have them you can see them with a flash light behind the       registers.
  5. Be careful about shutting off air flow to the rooms you are not using to save on energy. You could cause a       mildew problem which will cost you.
  6. If you have access to and have an outside condensing unit, make sure there is nothing obstructing the airflow       around the unit. This could cause adverse operating conditions.
  7. During the peak summer months do not shut the thermostat off while you are at work or out to save energy. If       you do this the system will have to run constantly to catch up, and cost you more during the peak power       consumption times.

System Failure Tips:   If your system fails to work do not panic. Check your thermostat first to make sure you have it set properly. Check to make sure all circuit breakers are on for the system. Do not reset them more than one time. If this does not solve the problem, then set the thermostat to the off position immediately. Leaving the thermostat on when the system will not perform, can compound the problem even more, by forcing the system, and causing more damage. It may be more uncomfortable to do this, but it will be much safer, and will cost you less. If all else fails, call a icensed ac contractor. We will be glad to help you.
